STATS SA published a report titled: Social impact of COVID-19 (Wave 3): Mobility, Migration, and Education in South Africa in July 2020. This report provides enlightening insights into the reality of dealing with school closures and learning during national lockdows experienced by 1,323 respondents surveyed during 2020. We've included some of the pertinent data in the slideshow below, highlighting the need for devices and internet access.

With such interruptions to schooling likely for the next few years, we need to give every student in South Africa an opportunity to learn anywhere. This cannot continue to be the exclusive domain of privileged students whose parents can afford these expensive devices and exhorbitant internet access costs.

Help us to put such devices and access into the hands of those who need it the most.
